INTRODUCTION

Let me share with you a list of persons who give full meaning to my existence:

Hadji, my husband. Although at times we have the tendency to disagree with each other, he still is a good partner. He is not easily affected with what others have to say, which I consider both a strength and a weakness . He is organized but not very time conscious ( a source of conflict for us). He is very practical, neat and a good artist. Hadji is a fan of KIKOMachine, Pugad Baboy and other comics ( he is a kid in heart), a hearty eater, a late bloomer basketball player, a shoe and t-shirt person and sleeps like there is no tomorrow.

Christa, my baby. Christa is a source of joy, a mood lifter. She is 17 months old and very active. She underwent strabismus surgery at a very tender age of 12 months. She still has residual crossing and undergoes regular checkup. She has a long list of words under her vocabulary. She has the gift to entertain and pleases anyone near her perimeter. She is learning to call her aunts and uncles in first name basis, which I know I have to correct when she comes to right age. She has this endearing way of calling us that could awake our sleepy heads and turn our full attention to her. She claims she is everybody's apple of their eyes by mentioning her name when asked who is loved by a particular person.

Papa, Inday and Denise. Even before, I confessed to be a papa's girl. Despite the circumstances that we are in now, my love for him has never waned. He has done so many to show how much love he has for me, my siblings and his granddaughters. He is very affectionate and sweet especially to Christa and Denise. He is a driver to his apos and lechon donor during special occasions. Though his temper is quick, this can be dissolved by the mere presence of any of his apos.
Inday is our eldest. Her beautiful face is matched with a very sweet personality. She indulges in both cheap and expensive thrills and has negosyo skills which
I hope to imbibe. She is a mom to a two year old tot named Denise.

Leslie
, my mentally-challenged youngest sister. She is a very simple, hang-ups free, humble and considerate individual. She accepted the job of being a yaya to her two nieces while waiting to be a volunteer nurse. She is POOR but very generous. She does not mind at all if nothing is left of her. She finds satisfaction in sharing.

Arnold, my ever concerned brother
. The
brawny look cannot mask the empathic person that he is. He is a man of strength and generosity.

Mama, the rock. When you feel so weak, she is a source of strength. She is an opposition to any of my views but when it comes to Christa she is all ears.

James, my child-like brother
. Though at times it is difficult to figure him out, he is actually is a sweet brother to us. His giving ability is between being practical and stingy. He prefers to accept gifts in cash rather than in kind.:-)

Nanay Susing, our second mother (leftmost). She has this huge love for us, her wards. She cries with us when we are in tears and triumphs in our success. She has been with us for 31 years and is now taking care of one her granddaughters, Christa.

FINALLY

I would say that my experiences as a first-time mom were not all smooth sailing. It has been a mixed of emotions- happiness, fears and worries. Since the day that Christa was diagnosed with congenital esotropia ( the alternating case), there was never a day that I would not worry. I felt my world had crumbled and caused me great disorientation. As I struggle to research and find ways to give her the best treatment, I lost some of what I used to be. I always ask my bestfriend, when can I experience pure happiness again.

I wrote on my wall for the Lord to give me inspiration today. I indeed received one- after reading the blogs of kaitlyn's mom. Christa's case is like that of Kaitlyn's. I truly feel that Christa should be needing another surgery in time. To see Kaitlyn's progress, gave me hope. God led me to this timely blogspot to send me the message that He is working things in His hands and time. He wants me to regain my slipping faith in Him.

Right at this time, I feel renewed, optimistic and thankful. I anticipate fluctuations on these positive emotions but I'll never forget whom to call for a recharge.
Christa, I am greatly sorry for being weak in facing your condition. I would have acknowledged a long time ago that I am not alone in this. I have our family and the ONE who gave you to me.
